Best Indian sweet shops in Leicester, according to ChatGPT and Gemini (November 2026)

Checked on 2 November 2026 · 6 answers from ChatGPT and Gemini

We asked ChatGPT and Gemini the questions people type when they want mithai in Leicester. Two shops, Sharmilee Sweet Mart and Aarti Sweet Centre, were named in all six answers, and Mithaas and Radhe Sweet Mart in five.

After that the two assistants split. ChatGPT named Jalaram Sweet Centre and Rangolee Sweet Centre in all three of its answers and Gemini never did; Gemini named Bobby’s every time and ChatGPT never did. So the shortlist a customer gets depends on which assistant they ask.

What the assistants read

ChatGPT’s answers cited the shops’ own websites, Tripadvisor and local listing sites. Gemini’s answers read like a guide to the Golden Mile, with addresses, founding years and what to order. All four shops named by both assistants had their own website cited in the answers.

Why this matters before Diwali

Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026, and Leicester’s Belgrave Road holds one of the biggest Diwali celebrations outside India. This is the week people decide where to buy their sweet boxes, and more of them now ask an AI assistant. In BrightLocal’s September 2026 study of about 200,000 local searches, asking ChatGPT the same question again returned only about 23% of the same businesses.

How we checked

On 2 November 2026 we asked ChatGPT and Gemini, with web search switched on, these questions:

  • “best Indian sweet shop in Leicester”
  • “highly rated Indian sweet shop in Leicester that locals love”
  • “which Indian sweet shop in Leicester do people recommend?”

We counted how many of the 6 answers named each sweet shop. Where an answer grouped several places together, we counted each one it named. Answers vary between runs and over time, so this is a snapshot, refreshed monthly. Sleepy Manager has no business relationship with any sweet shop listed.

Questions

How did you make this list?

On 2 November 2026 we asked ChatGPT and Gemini, with web search on, the three questions shown below, and counted how many of the six answers named each shop. We didn’t edit, pay for or influence any answer.

Will the list be the same if I ask?

Not exactly. AI answers vary between runs, between people and over time, so treat this as a snapshot. We re-check and update the page every month.

My shop isn’t on the list. Why?

Usually because the sites AI assistants read (listings, guides, reviews, your own website) say too little about you. Run a free check to see exactly which questions you’re missing from and who is named instead.

Can I have my shop removed?

Yes. Email hello@sleepymanager.com and we’ll remove it within 2 working days.
